Maintenance Program

The Maintenance Program began in 1991 and about 10% of volunteer time is spent on this activity. The purpose of this program is to maintain the rooms provided by local Department of Children and Families for the care of children removed from their homes and awaiting entry into the Foster Care system.

Lea's Place Volunteers maintain the provided space by cleaning the rooms, repainting the rooms when needed, replace/refurbish damaged furniture and toys, purchase food, diapers, toiletries and clothing or secure donations for these items. This work insures a safe, hygienic and pleasant homelike setting for children awaiting foster care.
