Lea’s Place
Volunteer Assistants

The purpose of this program is to relieve the child protection professionals of ancillary activities so he or she can focus on critical investigative casework duties. The Volunteer Advisory Committee began in 1991 and about 8% of volunteer time is spent on this activity.

Our Volunteer Assistants are assigned to a unit of PI's or counselors at the local Department of Children and Families office. The Volunteer Assistant is trained to help the professionals with reference checks on families under investigation, completing forms, performing data entry, clerical chores and other duties as deemed appropriate/helpful by the professionals.
