Lea’s Place
Speaker’s Bureau

Beginning in 1992, the Speaker’s Bureau was formed to help prevent child abuse & neglect in our community by making the general public aware of it's existence. Our speakers speak in public places: churches, club meetings, schools, businesses, etc. Members of the Speaker’s Bureau are comprised of representatives from the Department of Children and Families and Community Based Care staff as well as Lea’s Place Volunteers.

The premise is that an informed community is an empowered community. We educate to both assist the general public to recognize the signs of child abuse & neglect, as well as to enlist the help of the community to meet the needs of children served by Lea’s Place.
