Lea’s Place Volunteers

In partnership with the Department of Children and Families, Lea’s Place needs volunteers for a variety of programs designed to assist children who have been removed from abusive/neglectful situations or who have been abandoned. Our programs include:

On-Call Program—Volunteers attend to the needs of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment until a suitable placement is found. For as little as 4 consecutive on-call hours per month, you can help smooth a difficult transition.
Volunteer Friends Program—Volunteers are
paired with children in foster care to provide encouragement and companionship.
Volunteer Assistants Program—Volunteers provide office support and are trained to assist protective investigators.
Volunteer Advisory Committee—this committee provides feedback to the Board of Directors as to the effectiveness of ongoing activities and guidance on the need for additional programs.
Speaker's Bureau—An informed community is an empowered community. Our speakers help prevent child abuse & neglect by informing the general public of its existence.
