Lea’s Place Volunteers

In partnership with the Department of Children and Families, Lea’s Place needs volunteers for a variety of programs designed to assist children who have been removed from abusive/neglectful situations or who have been abandoned. Our programs include:

  • On-Call Program—Volunteers attend to the needs of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or abandonment until a suitable placement is found. For as little as 4 consecutive on-call hours per month, you can help smooth a difficult transition.
  • Volunteer Friends Program—Volunteers are
paired with children in foster care to provide encouragement and companionship.
  • Volunteer Assistants Program—Volunteers provide office support and are trained to assist protective investigators.
  • Volunteer Advisory Committeethis committee provides feedback to the Board of Directors as to the effectiveness of ongoing activities and guidance on the need for additional programs.
  • Speaker's Bureau—An informed community is an empowered community. Our speakers help prevent child abuse & neglect by informing the general public of its existence.
